Aladame founder, Coach Robert “Bob” Kelly, brings a lifetime of experience and love for the game of baseball, and sports in general, to the Company. Coach Kelly has taught young men of all ages the mechanics and strategy of the game. He has taken dozens of teams to major tournaments around the country and devoted thousands of hours of his time to local baseball leagues. He has actively assisted numerous young men in obtaining college baseball scholarships, and a few of Coach Kelly's former players are now Major Leaguers. Aladame sports is a natural extension of Coach Kelly's passion for the game.

In the late 1970's and early 80's, Coach Kelly was “Brother Francis,” the “official unofficial mascot” of the Atlanta Braves. His son Scott is an assistant baseball coach at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia. Since Scott joined the staff at Lassiter, the team has won one national high school championship (1999) and been state runner ups five times.

The Shamrock Bat Company Logo

Aladame's founders, Coach Bob Kelly and Bryan Prewitt, grew up following the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Alabama Crimson Tide, respectively. They blended their school's names and elements of their tradition into Aladame sports and the Shamrock Bat Company logo.

Our logo, the shamrock with an upturned elephant trunk, combines two longstanding and potent symbols of good luck. The shamrock as a symbol of luck derives from the Celtic tradition of ancient Ireland , and the elephant (with an upturned trunk, so not to “spill the luck”) is a symbol of luck from Asia . Combined, they form an incredible good luck charm. You won't need luck when you swing a high quality Shamrock Bat, but it never hurts to have a little in your corner.
